I'm a TV reporter
by Skyler Samuels

Becoming a reporter for Access Hollywood was an accident really. The show's producers wanted Jamie Lynn Spears to interview the cast of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but there was a scheduling problem and she couldn't do it. So the producers asked my mom, who also works on the show, if I would do it instead-they knew I had done a little acting before. I said sure, why not. The next day my mom and I flew to Chicago to meet Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson-and I was only 8 years old!

When I arrived at the studio, I was nervous and excited all at once, but as soon as I started asking questions I calmed down and got to work.

I met Emma first and she told me about her allowance, her pets and her hometown in England. She also talked about the crazy things fans will do, like the time Daniel did an interview for MTV. There was a crowd of girls standing in the snow and cold waiting for him. Emma said one of the girls was naked except for a towel that had "I love you, Harry" written on it.

After meeting the actors, I decided being a reporter was lots of fun and I've been doing it for three years. I like getting to meet people I've seen on TV and in the movies. I think my favorite interview was with Hilary Duff because I've always been a fan of hers. I've actually met Hilary a couple of times: The first was for her movie Agent Cody Banks, then we hosted the show The Top Ten Kids in Showbiz together and the last time, I went to her house. We hung out in her bedroom, jumped around on her trampoline and played with her puppy-he was so cute! Frankie Muniz was a lot of fun, too.

I knew he had a lot of cars, so I asked him how many and he said he had 16 cars, which really surprised me. He also said that he promised his business manager that he wouldn't buy any more that year!

HILARY DUFF
PERFECT MAN?!

In A Cinderella Story it was Chad Michael Murray. In Raise Your Voice it was Oliver James. It seems like Hilary Duff gets all the Hollywood hotties, but this time she's making sure her mom finds that special someone. As Holly Hamilton in The Perfect Man, Hil plays a teen who's determined to find her mom (Heather Locklear) a nice boyfriend. With the help of best friend Amy (American Dreams' Vanessa Lengies), they create an imaginary secret admirer--and lots of hilarious trouble for themselves!

This girlie group shot parts of the film in Toronto, Canada, where Hil was in good company: Michelle Trachtenberg and Hayden Panettiere, there to film the new movie Ice Princess, were Hilary's neighbors. "We'd see each other around," says Hayden. "Hilary's a very sweet, sweet girl."

And if making a movie wasn't enough, Hilary was also laying down tracks for her self-titled CD. "I was in the middle of filming while I was working on the album," she says. "I was flying home on weekends and going to studios to get it done." Sounds exhausting, but if The Perfect Man is as successful as her album, then it'll all be worth it!
